Volunteer Details

Art and Science in the Woods would not be possible without volunteers. Each year, roughly 100 volunteers serve as teaching assistants, medical staff, administrative assistants, and in many other capacities. We also have a limited number of teen volunteer opportunities for those ages 16 and up.

Before summer camp begins (May through June 10, 2024) - email sharon@sunfoundation if you can help with set up or clean up!

Before Art and Science in the Woods begins, a team of volunteers prepares Blue Heron Farms for camp. We also need help with pre-camp mailings, organizing supplies, and data entry.

 

Program Prep

During our week-long Art and Science in the Woods summer camp, we need teaching assistants, evaluators, nurses, and volunteers to help with various duties.

Bus Monitors

We have bus monitors lined up for 2024!

After summer camp ends (June 15–JuNE 30, 2024)

Once camp ends, volunteers help put supplies away, move tables, make sure tents are ready to be picked up, and convert the space back to a farm.

For your time and help, volunteers receive:

TA Discount: Adult Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Nurses receive a $50 tuition discount towards each child’s registration fees.

Limited Edition T-shirt: Volunteers receive a free Art and Science in the Woods T-shirt, designed by an artist from our community.
